A tiny newborn is fighting a very difficult battle inside the NICU at NICE Advanced Neonatal Care Centre and Children's Hospital, Kolhapur.

Born on 19 August 2026, the baby weighs only 660 grams and requires intensive neonatal care.

His medical condition includes Extreme Preterm / Extremely Low Birth Weight (EPT/ELBW), Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), surfactant treatment, and ongoing respiratory and feeding support. The treating hospital has advised continued NICU care and monitoring.

According to the hospital's medical certificate dated 8 September 2026, the baby may require another 6–7 weeks of recovery and NICU care, with an estimated treatment expenditure of approximately:

₹6,00,000 – ₹6,50,000

For his family, this is an overwhelming amount.
